Mangaluru, Oct 27: “If the high command decides, I will continue as the chief minister for five years,” said chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday, amid ongoing political developments within the Congress.
Responding to reporters’ questions, Siddaramaiah said, “Competition is a right in democracy. Ultimately, if the high command decides, I will continue as CM for five years.”




Responding to a question on whether the SIT report would be submitted this month, CM said the home minister had issued statements in that regard and that he was unaware of it.
When asked about his frequent visits to the coastal region, he clarified that there was no specific target for such visits and said, “I came because I was invited to the programme, that’s all.”
Reacting to the case registered against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, chief minister Siddaramaiah said, “Whoever delivers hate speeches, a case will be filed against them. Hate only creates division in society.”
District in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, former minister Ramanath Rai, MLAs Ashok Rai, MLCs Manjunath Bhandary and Ivan D’Souza, CM’s media secretary K V Prabhakar, Dakshina Kannada district Congress president Harish Kumar, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, KPCC general secretary Mithun Rai, Mamatha Gatti, Sadashiv Ullal, Lavanya Ballal, Rakshith Shivaram and several others were present on the occasion.
