Patna, Oct 25: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Saturday accused the Centre of failing to run adequate Bihar-bound trains, forcing passengers to travel in “inhumane conditions” during Chhath Puja.
Sharing a video on social media showing overcrowded trains, the former Chief Minister said, “The uncrowned king of lies and the leader of empty promises had boasted that out of 13,198 trains nationwide, 12,000 would operate for Bihar during Chhath. This turned out to be a blatant lie. My fellow Biharis are forced to travel in inhumane conditions.”

BJP national president J P Nadda had recently claimed that the Railways increased the number of special trains to 12,000 to meet passenger demand during the festival.
Lalu Prasad highlighted the long-standing struggles of Biharis, saying, “For 20 years under the NDA rule, people have suffered the pain of migration. Even for Chhath Puja, they are forced into packed trains. Due to wrong policies of the double-engine government, over four crore people migrate every year for work.”
He further alleged that despite industrial units being set up, the NDA government “has not established any major industry in Bihar so far” and is “anti-Bihar.”
The 243-member Bihar Assembly is set to go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
