Mangaluru, Oct 24: Felcy Zeena Fernandes, a beacon of inspiration, has been honoured for her outstanding leadership and selfless service in empowering adult leaders, scouts, and guides. Recognized by respected Thaawarchand Gehlot, governor of Karnataka, on September 26, for fostering a culture of excellence, responsibility, and service at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru.
A mathematics and science teacher by training, Felcy's educational journey began at Holy Family Primary School, Derebail, and continued at Lourdes Girls High School, Bejai, Mangaluru. She graduated from St Agnes College, Mangaluru, BEd trained at St Annes college of Education, Mangaluru and went on to serve in various high schools as mathematics and science teacher all over India.



Her marriage to Wilfred Fernandes led her to Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, where she taught at Indian School Muscat and continued her scouting and guiding work. Recognized by the Indian Embassy, she organized training camps and tours, promoting unity and service. mathematics and science teacher by profession she won excellence in teaching award and meritorious award among all Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman.
Post-superannuation, Felcy returned to Mangaluru and serving as honorary district commissioner guides adult resource for the Bharath scouts and guides, Dakshina Kannada. Her passion for cooking led to 'Felcy's Kitchen' on YouTube, where she shares her culinary expertise and inspires viewers.
Felcy's dedication to community service extends to organizing tours, travels, and serving religious organizations. She lives with her husband Wilfred and son Shawn at Derebail, Mangaluru, embodying a model for women's empowerment and societal progress.
