Mangaluru, Oct 18: Dr Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, Arkula, in association with Nithya Sahaya Matha English Medium High School, Arkula, organized an insightful awareness session on 'Understanding and Addressing Addiction, Behavioral Challenges, and Mental Health in Children and Families'.

The session aimed to sensitize parents to the growing issues of addiction, emotional imbalance, and behavioral changes among children, while guiding them on providing better emotional support and understanding at home.

Prof Bridget D’Silva, principal of Manaswini College of Nursing, Arkula, led the session with an engaging and informative presentation. She highlighted the importance of early identification of behavioral changes in children and emphasized the need for open communication and positive parenting practices within families.

The program also addressed the psychological challenges faced by students in today’s fast-paced environment and encouraged parents to create a nurturing and supportive home atmosphere.

Organized under the guidance of Dr Ravisha Thunga Airody, psychiatrist and medical director of Dr Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, the event received active support from the school’s headmistress and management staff. Parents actively participated in the discussion and appreciated the initiative taken by the hospital and school management to address such an important issue concerning children’s mental well-being.
