Mangaluru, Oct 16: Mount Carmel Central School organised a day’s seminar to inspire and empower foundation-level educators on "Happy Classroom" concept, in association with Orient Blackswan Publications, focusing on creating a positive learning environment. The seminar began with a invocation seeking divine blessings, led by teacher Swathi, setting a positive tone for the event.

Teacher Anita Uchil warmly welcomed everyone and introduced the esteemed resource person, V Uma Maheshwari. With an impressive background in English Literature and Education, Uma Maheshwari's engaging sessions through talks and activities on Activity Based Learning (ABL) and Child-Centered Learning provided educators with valuable insights and practical strategies to transform their classrooms into vibrant spaces for joyful learning.

She also highlighted the importance of the play-way method and learning from the environment, while exploring various learning styles, such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, to cater to the diverse needs of children.

Storytelling, a powerful tool in learning was made very interesting and captivating for the educators, making complex concepts more relatable and memorable. It was heartwarming to hear from the participants, briefly sharing their thoughts on implementing the shared ideas to make teaching and learning effective yet joyful.

The seminar concluded on a gracious note with teacher Melisha extending a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The afternoon session was learning from the peers who demonstrated lessons on VAKT concept.
