Mumbai, Oct 13: A major fire broke out late Saturday night in Kurla West, razing around 20 shops dealing in automobile spare parts on CST Road near Kapadia Nagar, Gurudwara. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
According to BMC officials, the fire started around 2:30 am in a ground-floor shop storing tyres, electrical wiring, and scrap materials, which caused flames to spread rapidly to adjoining units covering nearly 3,000 sq ft. Within minutes, 15 to 20 shops were engulfed, resulting in heavy financial losses.

Fire brigade teams and local police responded immediately, declaring a Level 1 fire at 2:43 am, later upgraded to Level 2 at 2:57 am. Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly five hours using four fire engines and ten jumbo water tankers, bringing it under control by 7:24 am.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the fire department and local police are investigating the incident.
