House gutted in fire at Navoor; family escapes unharmed

Bantwal, Oct 11: A major fire broke out at a house in Kanapade, Navoor village, during the early hours of Friday, reducing property worth several thousand rupees to ashes.

The blaze occurred at the residence of Dinesh Poojary around 3 am, when family members were awakened by the loud cries of a child. On noticing the flames, they quickly rushed out, managing to escape safely without any injuries.

The fire destroyed stored rice sacks, children’s school uniforms, textbooks, and clothing, leaving the family with significant losses. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Officials from the Navoor gram panchayat visited the spot and conducted an inspection of the damage.
