California, Oct 9: In a strategic move to regain momentum in the slowing electric vehicle market, Tesla has launched two new entry-level models — the Model Y Standard and Model 3 Standard. With these new additions, the company aims to make its vehicles more accessible while maintaining its reputation for innovation and performance.
The Model Y Standard variant comes with several simplified features compared to its premium counterparts. It drops the front light bars and panoramic sunroof, features smaller 18-inch wheels, and is available only in white, black, and grey. Inside, it gets a 7-speaker audio system instead of the 15-speaker unit, manual steering and mirror adjustments, and no rear seat heating. Despite these omissions, the model offers a powerful performance with a 69.5 kWh battery producing 300 hp and delivering a range of 517 km on a single charge.

The Model 3 Standard, on the other hand, continues to showcase Tesla’s sleek design and retains the panoramic sunroof. It comes with 18-inch wheels as standard and a grey exterior, with black available at an additional cost. It also uses the same 69.5 kWh battery, offering a similar 517 km range. The Model 3 Standard accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.8 seconds, slightly slower than the Premium RWD version.
Both models include Tesla’s signature technology suite, featuring a 15.4-inch touchscreen, Autopilot, and Sentry Mode. The Model 3 Standard is now Tesla’s most affordable sedan, priced at USD 36,990 (around Rs 32.8 lakh), while the Model Y Standard is priced at USD 39,990 (around Rs 35.5 lakh).
With these new offerings, Tesla aims to attract a wider customer base and strengthen its presence in the global EV market amid growing competition.
