Solapur, Oct 4: Tensions soared in Solapur after Shiv Sena Shinde faction’s Karmala division district chief, Mahesh Chivate, was brutally attacked on Saturday morning while returning home from his fields.

Preliminary reports suggest that the attack occurred when Mahesh Chivate’s vehicle was blocked on the road and he was assaulted by a young man named Manoj Landge, according to Chivate. He has since been admitted to Karmala Sub-District Hospital for treatment. The Karmala police inspector, Ranjit Mane, rushed to the scene and is leading a detailed investigation into the incident.

Serious allegations

Mahesh Chivate, elder brother of Mangesh Chivate, a close aide of DCM Eknath Shinde, has alleged that the attack was orchestrated by the Bagal family. He accused Rashmi Bagal, daughter of former minister Digambar Bagal, and Digvijay Bagal of hiring Manoj Landge to physically assault him.

Open challenge by Chivate

Following the assault, Mahesh Chivate issued an open challenge to the Bagal family, warning that such acts of “supari” violence will be met with equal retaliation. The incident has sent political shockwaves across Solapur, and the police are closely investigating the matter.
