Udupi, Oct 2: The Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission has undertaken a large-scale Social and Educational Survey for the year 2025-26 across Udupi district. The survey covers nearly 3.55 lac households with electricity connections, identified through RR numbers by the MESCOM department, where geo-tag stickers have already been affixed.
The household-level survey, launched on September 22 and scheduled to continue until October 7, aims to collect data on the social and educational status of citizens across the state. Enumerators are visiting every household to collect details such as ration card numbers, Aadhaar numbers, and UDID numbers in case of differently-abled family members.
Each family member’s Aadhaar must be linked to their mobile number. For verification under the e-authentication process, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number. In case the concerned member is not at home, the OTP may be shared through the phone number of another family member present.
So far, 1,31,350 households have been covered in Udupi district, surpassing the target of 84,664 households set until October 2. The survey is being carried out by 3,158 enumerators appointed for this purpose.
