Delhi schools, airports get hoax bomb threat mails; panic, swift response

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 29: More than 300 schools and several airports across the country received bomb threat emails on Sunday morning, triggering panic before officials confirmed them as hoaxes.

Police said the emails, sent at 6.08 am by a group calling itself Terrorizers111, warned of explosives planted in buildings and demanded a response within 24 hours. “Bombs placed around your building, react or face the disaster,” the subject line read.

Among the recipients were Delhi Airport and prominent institutions such as CRPF Public School in Dwarka and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar.

Teams from Delhi Police, fire services, and bomb disposal squads rushed to the locations and carried out thorough checks. “Nothing suspicious was found,” a fire services official said.

The city has faced a spate of similar hoax threats recently. Just last week, DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and another Sarvodaya Vidyalaya received threatening mails. On September 9, the University College of Medical Sciences, Maulana Azad Medical College, and the Delhi Secretariat were also targeted.

Authorities are investigating the source of the latest emails while urging institutions to remain vigilant.
