Arunodaya Kala Niketan brings divine dance offerings to Mangaluru for Navratri from Sep 23

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Arunodaya Kala Niketan, Mumbai, a 65-year-old institution of performing arts founded by the illustrious Vidwan Guru M N Suvarna, stands as a beacon of India’s cultural heritage.

Under the guidance of its artistic director, Dr Guru Meenakshi Shriyan, the institution continues to nurture the timeless traditions of Bharatanatyam while presenting new dimensions of artistic excellence.

This Navratri 2025, Arunodaya Kala Niketan returns to its roots in Mangaluru with a sacred offering of dance dedicated to the Divine Mother.

With reverence and devotion, the ensemble will present two acclaimed productions:

Sapta Sindhu — a confluence of Bharatanatyam and Odissi, choreographed by Dr Guru Meenakshi Shriyan & Guru Asha Nambiar.

Maha Shakti — a Bharatanatyam tribute to the Cosmic Goddess, choreographed by Dr Guru Meenakshi Shriyan.

The performances were staged at prominent temples as part of Navaratri celebrations Mookambika Temple, Kollur and Urva Mariamma Temple.

Three staged on:

Sept 25, 6:00 pm: Gokarnath Kudroli Temple, Mangaluru
Sept 26, 6:00 pm: Bappanadu Temple, Mulki
Sept 26, 7:30 pm: Mahalakshmi Temple, Uchila

Through these offerings, the dancers of Arunodaya Kala Niketan surrender at the lotus feet of the Eternal Mother, celebrating her grace, strength, and cosmic energy through the universal language of dance.
