Mangalore diocese holds vibrant 'Blooms’ Jubilee 2025'

Mangaluru, Sep 22: The Commission for women and the Commission for youth of the Mangalore diocese hosted Blooms’ Jubilee 2025 at Cascia Church Hall, bringing together visionaries, achievers and youth leaders in a vibrant celebration of talent and empowerment.

The programme began with prayer and the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries including Viola Reshma Lewis (chief guest), Fr Melwyn Pinto SJ, Fr Ashwin Cardoza, Fr Naveen Pinto and DEXCO members of YCS and ICYM. Youth leaders Amica Frank and Venus Wilfred Lewis were honoured for their exemplary service at national and regional levels, along with several DEXCO members of YCS and ICYM.

In her address, Viola Lewis urged young women to bloom with courage and resilience, while Fr Melwyn Pinto SJ stressed that women’s empowerment is a right rooted in human dignity and equality. Fr Ashwin Cardoza celebrated the Eucharist and, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all involved.

Educational sessions added depth to the day, with Dr Wilma Meera D’Souza (health and hygiene), Fr Naveen Pinto (canon law), advocate Ashwini D’Souza (cybercrime awareness) and Dr Sr Severine Menezes (you are precious) inspiring participants.

The valedictory recognised Remona, who entered the Golden Book of World Records for 170 hours of Bharatanatyam. The event was compered by Jeshma D’Souza with warmth and creativity.

Blooms’ Jubilee 2025 concluded as a movement of inspiration, leadership and empowerment, leaving a lasting mark of hope and unity in the diocese.
