Udupi, Sep 21: Udupi District superintendent of police Hariram Shankar said that the murder case of Dalit daily-wage worker Krishna, who was shot dead at Balehittu Moodutota in Hanehalli village under Brahmavar Police Station limits, will now be investigated from multiple angles to trace the accused.

Sp Hariram Shankar was speaking while presiding over the district-level Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes grievance meeting held by Udupi district Police at the District Police Office auditorium on September 20 and said, “A sincere investigation has already been carried out, but no clues have been found so far. Therefore, the case will now be investigated from different angles to trace the accused.”

During the meeting, Samata Sainik Dal leader Vishwanath Petri expressed disappointment over the police’s failure to crack the case and demanded that it be handed over to the COD.

Technical verifications were done, and the investigation team even visited Mumbai and Kerala. Since taking charge, I have visited Brahmavar Police Station four times and recently visited the crime spot myself. We are now exploring all angles, including the possibility of a land dispute.”

Udupi district additional superintendent of police Sudhakar S Nayak, Karkala Sub-division assistant superintendent of police Harsha Priyamvada, leaders Uday Kuamr Talloor, Vijaylakshmi Vasudev Mudoor, Yuvaraj, Ganesh Nergi and others were present during the meeting.
