New Delhi, Sep 21: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination is regarded as one of the toughest in India, with lakhs of aspirants appearing each year and only a handful making it to the prestigious services. Among those who turned dreams into reality is Divya Tanwar, a 2021-batch IPS officer, who cleared the exam in her very first attempt at the age of 21.

Divya, who hails from Mahendragarh in Haryana, secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 438. She is now an inspiration for many young aspirants, with her journey widely shared and celebrated on social media.

Her academic journey began in a government school in her hometown before she was selected to study at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahendragarh. After completing her bachelor’s degree in science, she began preparing for the UPSC exam. With just a year and a half of focused preparation, she cracked the examination without the aid of coaching institutes.

Life, however, was not without challenges. Divya lost her father in 2011, and her family faced financial struggles. Despite the hardships, her mother, Babita Tanwar, stood as her strongest pillar of support, both emotionally and financially. Divya relied heavily on online resources, test series, and mentorship programmes to prepare for the mains examination.

Her achievement is a testament to resilience, self-belief, and determination—qualities that continue to inspire countless UPSC aspirants across the country.
