Ballari, Sep 20: In a unique gesture of gratitude, a woman in Vijayanagara district has used money received under the Gruhalakshmi scheme to carve the portrait of chief minister Siddaramaiah on her house door.
The incident took place at Kenchamallanahalli village in Kudligi taluk, where a photograph of the newly carved door has now gone viral.
The couple, K M Tippeswamy and his wife Parvathamma, had been saving the money received every month from the Gruhalakshmi scheme and put it to good use. Tippeswamy had built a house two years ago, but due to financial constraints, he could not install a front door. Now, using the amount his wife received from the scheme over the past 15 months, he has finally installed one.

Not only did they install a door, but also had a portrait of CM Siddaramaiah engraved on it, along with the words “Respected Shri Siddaramaiah.” Through this, they expressed their gratitude to the chief minister.
The couple said that due to their financial difficulties, they were unable to fix the door earlier, but the Gruhalakshmi scheme gave them the support they needed. “Schemes like Anna Bhagya and Gruhalakshmi initiated by CM Siddaramaiah have enabled us to lead a better life,” said Tippeswamy.
Along with the engraved door, the couple posed for a photo in front of their house, which has now gone viral on social media, drawing widespread appreciation from netizens.
The Gruhalakshmi scheme has already helped many women build self-reliant lives. Similarly, this poor family has found a unique way to express gratitude to the CM using the scheme’s financial aid. Villagers from nearby areas are also visiting the house to view the front door with Siddaramaiah’s portrait.
