Mangaluru, Sep 17: Shrikanth Ganesh, an actor with over a decade of experience in the film industry, is set to release his romantic musical single ‘Manadani’, a soulful blend of emotion and melody.

With roots in Mangaluru and hailing from Somwarpet, Shrikanth is also a professional tattoo artist. He has not only acted but also directed, produced, and written the story for Manadani, which features actress Shraddha Gowda. The song is scheduled for release on September 18, presented by Purple Monk Tattooz and co-produced by Mithun Bilimagga.

The Manadani track is sung by Rajath Hegde, lyrics penned by Pratap Bhatt and music composed by Raghothama NS.

A decade ago, Shrikanth acted in the movie Shivalinga, which inspired him to pursue a career in cinema. Within just six months, he went on to appear in two television serials Gruha Laxmi and Agni Saakshi.

“Cinema is my passion, but tattooing remains my bread and butter,” says Shrikanth. “Post-COVID, I have been more active in the film space. It is tough to balance both worlds, but patience is the key.”

When asked whether his experience as a tattoo artist influences his storytelling, Shrikanth replies, “Definitely, I meet new people every day, each with unique stories. That exposure enriches my characters and narratives in film.”

He won the Best Actor award for the short film Claws and Teeth at the Vijaya Karnataka Kiru Chitrotsava 2024, which inspired him to create the romantic single "Manadani". “Around 70% of the song features rain elements. It is visually rich and deeply emotional; this feels like a relaunch for me.”

On working with Shraddha Gowda, Shrikanth shares, “She is new to the industry but is a quick learner, looks great on camera, and has immense potential to grow.”

Shrikanth is confident about the song’s reception. “I believe the audience will truly celebrate this track. It is fresh, emotionally charged, and has a certain ‘wow’ factor. We have delivered something special.”

He adds, “I have many stories to tell. While movies offer limited space for expression, songs like Manadani allow me to convey rich stories in a short format and I love that process. I will definitely continue in this direction.”

Concluding on an ambitious note, Shrikanth says, “I live and breathe cinema. My next project Avi is set in the Mangaluru region and will be released around February or March. Manadani is just the beginning – this is my relaunch, and I am here to stay.”
