Mangaluru, Sep 15: Young Mangalurean author and orator Reshel Bretny Fernandes is set to achieve another milestone as she will be honoured with the Veer Savarkar National Award on September 24 in New Delhi.
Fernandes, a prolific writer with four acclaimed books on significant themes and a string of national and international accolades, will receive the award at a ceremony organised by the Bhartiya Yuva Welfare Organisation under the ministry of defence, with support from other central ministries. The event will be held at the Kamani Auditorium.
Union ministers and ministers of state are expected to attend the function, which celebrates individuals recognised as the ‘Real Heroes of India'.
Fernandes’s literary achievements and inspiring oratory have earned her several awards, and this latest national honour marks yet another proud moment for the coastal city of Mangaluru.
