Kasargod: Case registered against man for divorce by triple Talaq, harassment over dowry

Kasargod, Sep 13: Police have registered a case against a man and his parents for allegedly pronouncing triple talaq and harassing his wife for additional dowry.

The accused have been identified as C Abdul Wajid (32) of Delampady Chamattadka, along with his mother Mymoona (50) and father C A Muhammad Kunju (50).

According to the complaint filed by M Ayesha Musain (25), a resident of Pumpwell, Mangaluru, she married Abdul Wajid on November 11, 2018. However, in recent times, she was reportedly subjected to pressure for more dowry, leading to disputes. The complaint alleges that Abdul Wajid divorced her by uttering talaq three times, following which she approached the police.

Based on her statement, a case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.
