Udupi, Sep 13: With the beginning of repair work at Parkala Junction from Monday, September 15, Udupi district deputy commissioner Swaroopa T K has ordered for re-routing for the vehicle movement.
All the vehicles moving towards Shivamogga - Hebri - Karkala from Udupi are directed to use NH 169A - Eshwarnagara - Saralebettu - Kodange - Parkala market and join NH 169A.
Vehicles coming towards Udupi from Karkala - Shivamogga - Hebri will continue to use the existing route on NH 169A.
The re-routing will come into effect from Monday, September 15, and will continue till September 21. The Parkala stretch was badly affected with completely worn-out roads and was creating a much-worsened situation for commuters.
Udupi - Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary visited the place on Friday, September 12 and had ordered to repair the road immediately with proper measures.
