Family of three found dead under suspicious circumstances in Assam

Darrang, Sep 12: Shock and grief gripped Assam’s Darrang district after three members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances near the historic Narikali Mandir on Wednesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Dipak Nath (55), discovered near his home’s boundary wall with no visible injuries; his wife Pratima Nath, found inside the house with her throat slit; and their 13-year-old son Dhriti Raj Nath, a class 7 student, whose body was dismembered.

The tragedy came to light when concerned neighbours and relatives, alarmed by repeated unanswered phone calls, entered the residence and stumbled upon the horrific scene.

A police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Rosy Talukdar arrived promptly and began an investigation. Authorities are yet to ascertain the motive behind the killings, and further details are awaited.
