Nepal tensions rise: Gen Z protest against corruption, social media ban turns violent

Kathmandu, Sep 8: At least one person was killed in violent clashes in Nepal’s capital on Sunday as Gen Z protesters hit the streets against corruption and the government’s decision to ban social media.

Authorities imposed a curfew in parts of Kathmandu after protesters broke into restricted zones and entered the Federal Parliament premises.

Following the escalation, the army was deployed in the capital to maintain law and order.

The situation remains tense as security has been tightened across the city.
