Mangaluru, Sep 8: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great joy and gratitude at St Sebastian Church, Bendur, on September 6 in the Centenary Hall. The program was jointly organized by CAL, YCS, Youth Commission, and Catholic Sabha members, who worked together to honor and appreciate the noble service of teachers in the parish.
The programme began with a soulful prayer hymn sung by the teachers themselves, setting a devotional and reverent atmosphere. Fr Arun Lobo led the congregation in prayer and invoked God’s blessings on all teachers’.









































Jyothy D’Souza extended a warm welcome to the parish vicar, assistant priests, all the teachers, and parishioners present. Following this, the parishioners sang a special wishing song dedicated to teachers, filling the hall with gratitude and appreciation.
A special highlight of the evening was the felicitation of senior-most teachers who had dedicated several years of their lives in the field of education.

Each of them was felicitated with a token of love and gratitude, in recognition of their invaluable contribution to students and society.
In his message, the parish vicar Fr Walter D’Souza expressed heartfelt thanks to all teachers, appreciating their vital role not only in academics but also in shaping the character of future generations. He beautifully conveyed his message through a song performed along with the parish members, which was both touching and memorable.
Teachers showcased their hidden talents by presenting skits, jokes, songs, and dances, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and inspired. Performances by CAL and YCS members added youthful vibrance with energetic and graceful dance performances, which were widely applauded.
As a mark of appreciation, all teachers were honored with gifts – a token of gratitude from the parish community. Flavilla Pinto proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all organizers, participants, and supporters. The entire programme was well compered by Anna Patrao and Glenisha D’Souza, who kept the flow lively and engaging.
Finally, Fr Vivek Pinto invoked God’s blessings on the fellowship meal, lovingly prepared by the committee members of the church. The teachers and parishioners joyfully shared the meal, which added warmth to the celebration.
