Mangaluru, Sep 6: A spiritually uplifting special prayer, Adoration, and worship was held at St Lawrence Church & Shrine in preparation for the Feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary, organised and led with devotion by the Mother Home Retreat Centre on September 5.
The faithful gathered early, beginning with confession, fostering spiritual renewal. This was followed by heartfelt praise and worship, during which Fr Jose Poovathingal delivered an inspiring message, reminding everyone that god dwells not only in our churches but also in our hearts and homes.
He emphasised that true worship is not just an act, but an attitude of the heart, where every thought, word, and action places god at the centre of our lives. Fr Jose encouraged the faithful to make god the first priority in all things, surrendering themselves fully to his love, and allowing His presence to guide, heal, and transform their daily lives.

The blessed sacrament was exposed for veneration. The church was dimly lit, with candles glowing, creating an atmosphere of prayerful silence and devotion.
Fr Jose guided the faithful to experience the presence of god, surrendering themselves fully to his loving and healing touch. During this time, he offered prayers for families, children, the sick, and all those in need, lifting hearts to Christ for healing, comfort, and special blessings.
The blessed sacrament was carried in procession, allowing the faithful to touch, feel, and receive special blessings, with all present receiving the abundant grace of God. The praise and worship, led by Fr Jose and Br Melwin, along with the Mother Home Retreat Centre team, filled the gathering with heartfelt devotion and created a truly spiritual and uplifting experience.
The sacramental blessing was graciously imparted by Fr Lawrence Cutinha, assistant priest, filling the faithful with god’s grace and spiritual strength
Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Mother Home Retreat Centre team for their dedicated preparation and guidance, making the celebration of Mother Mary’s Nativity truly meaningful and spiritually uplifting.
The retreat concluded beautifully with Angelo’s and a thanksgiving hymn, filling the hearts of all present with praise and gratitude.
