Master Swanik Acharya secured 1st place at Jita Kyoei International Judo Tournament

Mumbai, Sep 5: Master Swanik Acharya, a 9-year-old student of VIBGYOR Roots & Rise school, Mumbai, has secured 1st place at the prestigious Jita Kyoei International Judo Tournament, held in Thimphu, Bhutan; organized by the Bhutan Judo Association and sponsored by the Government of India and Bhutan Olympic Committee.

Swanik Acharya is the proud son of Swarup and Priyanka Acharya and the beloved grandson of P J Acharya (Andheri West) and Gopal Acharya (Goregaon West).

Swanik receives his training at the renowned Bombay Judo Club, a legendary institute founded in 1962 by the late Sensei NT Bangera, a pioneering figure in Indian Judo. Today, the club continues its esteemed legacy under:

Yatish Bangera, 7th Dan black belt (International Judo Federation), director

Tribhuvan Bangera and Dhanish Bangera, both 2nd Dan black belt, assistant directors.
