Two security personnel martyred in Maoist encounter in Jharkhand’s Palamu

Palamu, Sep 4: Two security personnel lost their lives and another sustained injuries in an exchange of fire with Maoists belonging to the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), a splinter group of CPI (Maoist), in Jharkhand’s Palamu district in the early hours of Thursday.

The encounter took place around 12.30 am in Kedal area under Manatu police station limits. Confirming the incident, Palamu DIG Naushad Alam said, “Two security personnel were killed, and one jawan was injured in the gunfight. The injured has been shifted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for treatment.”

Security has been tightened in the region, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.
