Mangaluru, Sep 3: The RGUHS Mangalore Zone intercollegiate tournament, hosted by Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences (SIDS), Mukka, concluded on a grand note with Father Muller Allied Health Sciences securing the first place, followed by SDM Naturopathy College, Ujire in second place.
Alva’s College of Allied Health Sciences clinched the third place, while Alva’s naturopathy & yogic science bagged the fourth place.
The tournament, organised in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, began with a vibrant inaugural ceremony held at the SIDS auditorium on August 29.




The function was presided over by Prof (Dr) Reshma Pai, dean of SIDS. The chief guest was Dr Uday Kumar, dean of Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences, who in his address emphasised the importance of sports in holistic education.
The guest of honour, Chandrashekhar, RGUHS Mangaluru zonal coordinator, encouraged students to display discipline, enthusiasm, and the spirit of fair play.
The event was coordinated under the leadership of Dr Hemanth, faculty sports coordinator, SIDS. On the occasion of National Sports Day, the sports pledge was administered by Supriya Adiga, physical education director, SIDS, inspiring the gathering to uphold sportsmanship. The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Shruthi M.
A total of 16 teams from Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi districts participated in the tournament, showcasing their talent and determination across events.
The programme also witnessed the active involvement of the physical directors of Srinivas Group of Colleges –Pranam Shetty, Ranjith Kumar, and Pramith – who extended their support and encouragement to the participating teams.
