Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 3: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), inaugurated the AgentBlazer Club with great enthusiasm, creating a new platform to foster leadership, innovation, and excellence among students.

The event was graced by chief guest, Santosh Rebello, University programme manager, Salesforce and guest of honour Stephen Pinto, engagement delivery manager, salesforce & SJEC alumnus. The presence of the director, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, faculty members, and students added to the significance of the occasion.

The programme began with the escorting of dignitaries, a prayer, and a warm welcome by Dr Melwyn D’Souza, HoD of Computer Science. The ceremonial lamp lighting symbolised wisdom and positivity.

In his address, Rebello highlighted that “opportunity is with everyone and it is up to us how we make use of it,” encouraging students to bridge the role–radiance gap. Stephen Pinto inspired students to upskill continuously, stressing adaptability as a key to thriving in today’s fast-changing world. Principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, urged students to recognise and seize opportunities for growth.

The inauguration concluded with a felicitation ceremony led by Nisha Roche and a vote of thanks by Reuben Saldanha, student president of the club. The programme was coordinated by faculty members, Keith Fernandes and Nisha Roche.

As part of the inauguration, an Agentforce session was conducted by Santhosh and Stephen, offering insights into the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in Salesforce.

The key highlights included the journey of AI from pattern recognition to Generative AI, and the emergence of Agentic AI—where autonomous systems act, reason, and adapt, opportunities in Salesforce across domains such as administration, trailblazer community, analytics & tableau, and solution development, the reminder that around 20% of Salesforce jobs today are in digital roles, with immense growth potential.

Both speakers encouraged students to position themselves as innovators and leaders in the Salesforce ecosystem, equipping themselves for careers in digital transformation. The inauguration and session together marked a memorable beginning for the AgentBlazer Club, setting the foundation for a vibrant community of learners, leaders, and innovators.
