New Delhi, Sep 1: Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched a scathing critique of the Opposition’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar on Monday, branding it a theatrical spectacle meant to revive fading political fortunes rather than promote democratic engagement.

Speaking on the concluding day of the campaign—which is set to end with a padyatra at Patna’s iconic Gandhi Maidan—Naqvi alleged that the initiative is nothing more than a scripted performance by Opposition leaders desperate to stay politically relevant.

“This so-called yatra is like a failed movie headlined by the usual dynastic players—heroes in fiction, but irrelevant in reality,” Naqvi said. “It’s a concoction of confusion designed to target and undermine constitutional institutions like the Election Commission.”

According to Naqvi, the INDIA bloc leaders participating in the march are doing more harm than good by spreading mistrust and misleading the public.

“Rather than inspiring citizens to participate in the democratic process, they’re sowing seeds of doubt. Their campaign isn’t about electoral reform—it’s about political survival,” he asserted.

The Opposition's ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ was launched to highlight alleged discrepancies in electoral rolls and raise voter awareness. However, BJP and other NDA leaders have repeatedly dismissed it as a publicity stunt timed to influence the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Naqvi further accused the Opposition of trying to delegitimize India’s electoral processes. “They are ignoring the sanctity of institutions that uphold democracy. This is not activism—it’s desperation,” he said.

In a separate remark, Naqvi also weighed in on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China, highlighting the global recognition India now commands.

“India stands tall on the world stage. PM Modi’s leadership reflects our unwavering national interest. Whether the threat is economic, social, or educational, terrorism remains a global menace—and India has consistently taken a strong stand against it,” Naqvi added.

He emphasized that India’s foreign policy under Modi underscores both strength and principle, particularly in confronting terrorism and securing global partnerships.
