Dubai, Sep 1: The Moodbidri Varado Catholics under the banner of Udenthichim Neketram are gearing up to celebrate Monti Fest 2025, a joyous occasion of faith, fellowship, and tradition. The celebration will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 11 am to 4 pm at the Iranian Club, Dubai. This cherished annual event brings together parishioners to honour Mother Mary and celebrate the harvest feast with devotion, gratitude, and unity.
Established in 2005 in Dubai, Udenthichim Neketram is a union of 14 parishes from the Moodbidri deanery of the Mangalore diocese. Its mission has been to unite fellow Catholics from these parishes living in the UAE, help each other, promote cultural and spiritual values, support parish needs back home, and provide a platform for young talents. Over the years, the group has organized various events to strengthen community bonds, encourage youth participation, and celebrate Konkani traditions. While the last few years have seen a quieter phase, 2025 marks a new beginning—with senior members and passionate youngsters coming together once again to revive and carry forward the original vision of the union.
This year’s Monti Fest celebration will begin with a floral offering to Mother Mary by children, followed by the traditional Novem Jevan—a symbolic vegetarian meal served to families. The afternoon will feature an exciting line-up of cultural performances including music, dance, comedy skits, games, and more. The highlight of the cultural programme is the much-awaited Comedy Express by renowned Konkani Comedy Prince Pradeep Barboza and team, guaranteed to leave the audience in splits.
