Lucknow, Aug 31: A 13-year-old girl from Lucknow was allegedly lured, blackmailed, and extorted by a man who also threatened her family, police said.

The matter came to light after the victim's father lodged a formal complaint with the Naka Hindola police station, leading to the registration of an FIR and the accused being taken into custody.

According to the complaint, the accused, Aryan Singh, initially contacted the minor on Instagram, gaining her trust before allegedly manipulating and abusing her both mentally and physically. When the girl tried to speak to his sister, Aryan allegedly hurled abuses and issued death threats.

The victim’s father revealed that Aryan had extorted Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000 from the girl by threatening her family. On August 29, he demanded another Rs 50,000 or jewellery, claiming he wanted to buy a Bullet motorcycle. When the demand was not met, Aryan went to the girl’s home, where he was caught by the family and handed over to the police.

The police confirmed the FIR and said a detailed investigation is underway.
