Byndoor, Aug 31: A 45-year-old woman from Bengaluru, who had gone missing from the premises of Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple on August 27, was found dead in the Souparnika river.

According to a complaint filed by her mother, Vimala of Thyagarajanagar, Bengaluru, her daughter, Vasudha Chakravarthy, had travelled to Kollur in her car (KA04-MY-7092) and parked it near a temple guest house. When repeated attempts to reach her daughter on the phone went unanswered, the complainant visited Kollur on August 29 and enquired with temple staff. They informed her that Vasudha had been behaving in a disturbed manner within the temple premises before suddenly running out onto the road.

Despite extensive searches around the temple and surrounding areas, no information was found initially, and Kollur Police registered a missing person’s case (Crime No. 68/2025).

Later, based on local inputs, it was suspected that Vasudha had entered the Souparnika river. Search operations were carried out by locals, Byndoor fire and emergency services personnel, and a rescue team led by Eshwar Malpe.

On Saturday, the search team recovered the body about three kilometres downstream from the spot where she had reportedly entered the river. The body had drifted through dense forested stretches before surfacing in the plains.

Police have taken up further investigation.

How sad.She came driving and later visited temple.Temple authorities said she was looking disturbed and went running out ?May be she was more mentally unstabile, came driving long distance and didnt have taken any fluids for long time?It happens when one doesnt take fluids for long time ,body thursts and you fall in a disturbed stage .That must be a reason and further she went to swim?and catastroph was perfect?May he soul rest in peace. What says her mother? Was she alone?Nothing about her family is known.was she previously too sick?Heartfelt sympathies to her family.

RIP! Major Clinical Depression is not responsive to most types of treatments, suicidal ideation is very common; such people need to be closely monitored especially when they indulge in unusual activities like going to multiple religious places etc!!

"The search team recovered the body about three kilometres downstream" Thankfully the mortal remains are intact in spite of the area is being infested with wild animals.🙏

unfortunately my guess was right...she was an expert swimmer as per reports...It is very hard to believe how she got drowned!! probably the will to die was far greater than her skill..Om Shanti..
