Valedictory ceremony of Navarasa Deeksha Vaibhavam to be held on Aug 30

Udupi, Aug 29: Vidhushi Deeksha is all set to enter the Golden Book of World Record by completing 216 hours of continuous Bharatanatyam performance on August 30 at 3:30 pm. The valedictory ceremony of the dance marathon Navarasa Deeksha Vaibhavam will be held at 5 pm at Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, Ajjarkad.

Former MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, addressing the media in the press conference held on August 29, said, “On August 27 Deeksha has successfully broken the previous world record in Bharatanatyam performance. Dr Manish Bishnoy, Golden book of World Record, Asian Head, Delhi officially declared the new record by Deeksha V. She began her performance on August 21 at 3:30 pm and will conclude on August 30 at 3.30 pm achieving an extraordinary 216 hours of continuous Bharatanatyam. Deeksha has worked with immense dedication to accomplish this rare feat, and hence a grand felicitation has been arranged for her on August 30.”

The valedictory ceremony will begin with a bhajan programme by the students of Rathna Sanjeeva Kalamandala, Manipal, followed by the official honouring of the Golden Book of World Records certificate to Deeksha V. On the occasion, she will also present a Bharatanatyam performance.

The event will be graced by MLAs from Udupi district, Dr G Shankar, government officials, religious leaders and other dignitaries.

The press conference was attended by Guru Shridhar Bannanje, Deeksha’s husband Rahul, and leader Mahesh Thakur.
