Mangaluru, Aug 28: In a ghastly road accident near the Talapady toll gate on Thursday, August 28 afternoon, six persons — including five members of the same family — lost their lives on the spot.
According to police, the accident occurred when a bus coming from K C Road collided head-on with an autorickshaw. The impact was so severe that the auto was completely mangled. Moments later, the bus hit another autorickshaw from behind, causing it to overturn.


The deceased have been identified as autorickshaw driver Haider Ali (47), Avvamma of Farangipet, Khatuja (60) of Azzinadkka, Hasna, Nafeesa (52), and Ayesha (19). Khatuja and Nafeesa were sisters, while Avvamma was Nafeesa’s aunt. Hasna was Khatuja’s daughter, and Ayesha was Nafeesa’s daughter.
The family, hailing from Mullugudde in Azzinadkka, was on their way to a relative’s house in Kunjathur, Manjeshwar, when tragedy struck.
In addition to the fatalities, two pedestrians sustained injuries and were shifted to Mangalpady Hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered at Manjeshwar police station.

Mangaluru, Aug 28: A tragic accident occurred at Talapady on Thursday afternoon when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, on its way to Mangaluru from Kasargod, lost control after its brakes reportedly failed and rammed into a bus shelter.
The incident took place around 1.30 pm. Four people waiting at the bus stop lost their lives on the spot. Police confirmed that the deceased, who included three women and one man, were all from the same family. In addition, a child also lost its life. Some of them were seated inside an auto-rickshaw parked near the shelter at the time of the accident.





In addition, seven people sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
