Rohtas, Aug 26: In a shocking incident, a young woman was shot dead by a man she was in a relationship with after she allegedly refused to marry him. The tragedy unfolded at a private guesthouse in Bihar’s Rohtas district on Monday.
The accused, identified as Jackie Nat of Ballia, allegedly pressured Kajal Kumari to marry him. However, the woman, citing social stigma and caste differences, refused his repeated proposals, her mother Gayatri Devi said.

Hours before the crime, Kajal, who worked at a mall, was dropped at a market by her mother. Later, news broke that she had been shot inside a hotel room by Jackie, who then turned the gun on himself.
“She had told us that Jackie kept insisting on marriage. He even threatened, ‘If she cannot be mine, she cannot be anyone else’s,’” Gayatri Devi told reporters.
Kajal was rushed to a local hospital and later referred to Varanasi, but succumbed to her injuries. Jackie was found dead in the room of Aarav Banquet Hall Guest House.
Upon receiving the information, SDPO (Sasaram) Dilip Kumar reached the spot. Police recovered a pistol and a cartridge shell from the scene. Jackie’s father, Paras Nat, accused the hotel management of conspiring against his son.
Police said further investigation is underway.
