Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 24: A sub-inspector was allegedly assaulted inside Sillod police station on Friday afternoon after a dispute over car parking escalated into violence.

Police said an FIR was registered against accused Gokul Nikalje, his wife, daughter, and another minor family member. While Nikalje was arrested, the others were released after being served notices.

According to the complaint filed by sub-inspector Babu Munde, the incident began when Nikalje parked his car in a way that blocked traffic at Neelam Chowk. When asked to move it, the women allegedly abused Munde and threatened to implicate him in an atrocity case.

The family reportedly grabbed the officer by the neck and issued death threats. Later, at the police station, Nikalje allegedly repeated the assault, tried to damage a computer, and discarded official documents.

Senior inspector Sheshrao Udar confirmed that strict action had been taken and investigation is underway.

This is the second such incident in three days at the same police station. On Wednesday, three people, including a woman complainant, allegedly abused the station in-charge and assaulted a woman constable, who fainted after being grabbed by the throat. A separate case has been registered.
