Udupi, August 23: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, had the honour of hosting the honourable home minister of Karnataka, Dr G Parameshwara, during his official visit to Manipal on Saturday. Dr G Parameshwara commended MAHE’s enduring legacy and exemplary standards in education, health sciences, technology and innovation.
Addressing senior officials and faculty members, Dr G Parameshwara paid rich tributes to the institution’s founder, Dr T M A Pai, and acknowledged MAHE’s commitment to holistic development, world-class infrastructure, and diverse academic programmes. He noted MAHE’s standing as a leading destination for higher education especially medical education and highlighted its far-reaching impact on both national and global healthcare landscapes.


Dr Parameshwara praised MAHE’s global perspective and international benchmarks in academic quality, stressing the vital role of higher education institutions in partnering with government institutions to fulfil India’s expanding educational and healthcare needs. He particularly recognised MAHE’s contributions in fostering skilled professionals and promoting research, technological advancement, and academic rigor.
Pro chancellor Dr H S Ballal welcomed minister Dr Parameshwara and Dr Giridhar Kini, registrar of MAHE proposed the vote of thanks. Pro vice chancellor Dr Narayana Sabhahit was also present on the occasion.
Dr G Parameshwara toured key campus facilities including its state-of-art sports complex Marena.
