Kaup, Aug 23: D J Mervin, a 35-year-old cinematographer, tragically passed away in a car accident near Muloor while traveling from Udupi to Mangaluru with video editor Prajwal Suvarna, Prasad, Vignesh and an unidentified person.
The incident occurred at around 3 am, when they swerved to avoid a street dog, causing their car to overturn. Ambulance drivers Jalaluddin, Hameed Uchilla, K M Siraj, Anvar and police officialls immediately shifted five injured persons to Adarsh Hospital in Udupi. All occupants were injured, but Mervin succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, while others escaped with minor injuries.

Just a day before the accident, Mervin had released his new song on YouTube, which he produced and shot himself for APD Music. He had also worked on several Konkani and Tulu movie projects as a cinematographer, showcasing his creative talent.
