Bengaluru, Aug 21: YouTuber Sameer MD, who recently went viral after posting an AI-generated video on alleged crimes in Dharmasthala, has secured anticipatory bail from the Mangaluru Sessions Court, escaping imminent arrest.

Sameer had uploaded the video on his YouTube channel, which within hours created a stir on social media. The video, which made provocative claims about hundreds of bodies allegedly buried in Dharmasthala, sparked widespread debate and outrage.

Following the upload, Dharmasthala police registered a suo motu case against him on July 12. The video led to heated discussions, with strong reactions both in favour and against.

On Thursday, August 21, a police team from Dharmasthala reached Sameer’s residence at Hulimavu near Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, to arrest him. However, he was not at home, and searches were conducted.

Meanwhile, anticipating arrest, Sameer had already filed for anticipatory bail before the Dakshina Kannada District Sessions Court on August 19. The court has now granted him bail.
