Bantwal, Aug 20: The Dharmarakshana Vedike of Bantwal taluk, under the aegis of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, organised a public awareness meeting on Wednesday, August 20 at Sparsha Kala Mandira, B C Road, in the presence of Sri Mahabala Swamiji of Kaniyoor Math. The meeting was held to condemn derogatory remarks against Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala and its trustee.
Speaking on the occasion, former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary said that justice must be served in Soujanya’s death case and the guilty should be punished under the law. At the same time, those who are allegedly conspiring against Dharmasthala in Soujanya’s name should also face action, he added. Highlighting the role of Dharmasthala’s initiatives, he said the schemes introduced by the institution have created opportunities for self-reliant living across the state.

Former minister B Nagaraj Shetty said the SIT must carry out its probe impartially so that the reputation of the sacred shrine is not tarnished. He prayed for mental peace and strength for trustee Veerendra Heggade to continue his service for the growth of Sanatana Dharma.
Saripadi Ashok Shetty cautioned that if Hindus do not remain vigilant, temples across the state may face continuous attacks.
Several dignitaries including M Thungappa Bangera, Harikrishna Bantwal, Santosh Kumar Shetty Boliyar, Sudarshan Jain, Padmashekhar Jain, Prakash Karanth, Dinesh Amtur, Sulochana G K Bhat, Sadananda Navoor, Prabhakar Prabhu, and K K Poonja were present.
After the meeting, a large gathering proceeded to the Rakteshwari Devi Temple at BC Road where Ujire Ashok Bhat addressed the crowd. Later, a delegation visited the tahsildar’s office and submitted a memorandum.
