Kadaba: Wild elephant attack continues in Savanoor

Daijiworld Media Network – Kadaba

Kadaba, Aug 18: A wild elephant has been wreaking havoc in Kolthige village of the taluk for the past week, entering farmlands during the night and causing extensive crop damage.

The elephant, which damaged crops near Perlampadi’s Kempugudde, Purusharakodi, Kattapuni, Kuntikana, and Chalepadu areas, has now moved into Doddamane, Kodambu, and Koorelu localities, continuing its destruction of crops.

While it descends into agricultural areas at night to damage crops, the elephant retreats to the protected forests of Kaniyaru Hills during the daytime. Despite villagers’ efforts to drive it away using crackers and noise, the elephant changes its route and shifts to another area, causing distress to farmers.
