Hathras, Aug 12: A traffic constable in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, firmly confronted the son of a BJP lawmaker after his SUV, displaying a party flag and “vidhayak” sticker, blocked a busy road. The incident, involving Legislative Council member Chaudhary Rishipal Singh’s son Tapesh, has gone viral on social media.

Tapesh, travelling in a Scorpio with a gunner, allegedly told constable SP Singh to “get lost” when asked to move the vehicle. The cop shot back, saying, “You are maligning your father’s reputation,” sparking a heated exchange captured on video.

In the clip, Singh accuses the MLC’s son of creating a traffic jam and misusing power, while Tapesh counters that the constable is damaging the government’s reputation. Other policemen are seen trying to calm the situation before the SUV eventually drives away.

The constable later said Tapesh refused to identify himself, misbehaved, and even took his photograph. The video has fuelled public discussion on VIP culture and the misuse of political privilege.
