Banda, Aug 10: A tragic incident unfolded in Risaura village of Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district as a woman and her three children were found dead in a canal, allegedly after she jumped into the water with them following a fight with her husband. The deceased have been identified as Reena and her children Himanshu (9), Anshi (5), and Prince (3).

The family dispute reportedly occurred on Friday night, after which Reena left her home with the children without informing her husband, Akhilesh. The next morning, the husband’s family began searching for them and discovered their belongings near the canal bank. Police divers later recovered their bodies from the canal, tied together with a cloth.

“We reduced the canal water level and deployed divers. After five to six hours, the bodies were recovered. It appears she left after the dispute with her husband,” said Shiv Raj, Additional Superintendent of Police, Banda. The husband is currently in police custody and being questioned.
