Mainpuri, Aug 9: In a shocking case, a local court has sentenced a 20-year-old man, Jagmohan, to life imprisonment for the heinous crime of raping his two-year-old cousin.
The incident occurred on November 7, 2022, when Jagmohan visited a relative's house in Nagla Jilhi, Bewar police station area.
The court, presided over by ADJ Jeetendra Mishra, also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000, which will be awarded to the victim. The crime came to light when the girl's family heard her screams and rushed to the room, but Jagmohan managed to escape.
The injured child was found bleeding and in a semi-conscious state, prompting her family to take her to the hospital. An FIR was lodged at Kishni police station the following day, leading to Jagmohan's arrest. On Thursday, the court delivered its verdict, ensuring justice for the young victim.
