Heavy vehicle movement banned on Balebare Ghat

Daijiworld Media Network – Shivamogga (JD)

Shivamogga, Aug 6: The Shivamogga district commissioner has issued an order banning the movement of heavy vehicles on the Balebare Ghat stretch in Kundapur taluk following a major road collapse.

The ghat, which suffered a significant road failure a few days ago, has been deemed unsafe for heavy vehicle movement. The ban applies to the stretch between Masthikatte and Hosangadi on the Thirthahalli–Kundapur state highway.

As alternative routes, vehicles may take the Thirthahalli–Rave–Kanugodu–Nagara–Kollur–Kundapur road, Thirthahalli–Yadur–Masthikatte–Kanugodu–Nagara–Kollur–Kundapur route, or the Shivamogga–Honnavar highway–Bhatkal–Byndoor–Kundapur road.
