Udupi, Jul 29: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) handed over a Mahindra Bolero vehicle, a portable X-ray unit, and an LED biological microscope to the District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Udupi.
The formal handover took place in the presence of the deputy commissioner of Udupi Swroopa T K, reaffirming KRCL’s commitment to social welfare and nation-building.
The equipment, collectively valued at Rs 13,26,488, is expected to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure of the district, especially benefitting the Civil Hospital, Udupi.


During the programme, the vehicle key was formally handed over to the deputy commissioner by Asha Shetty, Railway regional manager (RRM), Karwar.
The event was also graced by chief executive officer of the Zilla Panchayat, Prateek Bayal; district health and family welfare officer, Dr Basavaraj Hubballi; senior executive engineer, Gopalakrishna; deputy chief medical officer, Dr Steven George; DTO, Chidanand Sanju; and DMO, Dr Prashanth Bhat.
