"Nitish Kumar will be CM Again": Chirag Paswan’s dramatic U-turn on Bihar leadership

New Delhi, Jul 29: In a surprising reversal of his recent criticism, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has now declared that Nitish Kumar will once again take oath as Bihar's Chief Minister after the upcoming assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters in the capital, Paswan reaffirmed his allegiance to the NDA and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "After the election results, Nitish Kumar will again take oath as Chief Minister. Definitely, he will be the Chief Minister."

The statement comes just two days after Paswan had lashed out at Nitish Kumar’s government, accusing it of “surrendering before criminals” and expressing regret for having to support the JDU leader.

Paswan also targeted the Opposition for politicising Operation Sindoor, claiming they were even dragging the Army into political battles to corner PM Modi. "They question Operation Sindoor to attack the PM. But it was the Army that carried it out, not any minister," he asserted.

On the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, Paswan defended the process, calling it a “technical upgrade” and slammed the Opposition for creating unnecessary panic.

Responding to RJD MP Manoj Jha’s demand for a fact-finding committee on Bihar’s law and order, the Hajipur MP remarked, "I am a Bihari. I know my state well. Raising concern doesn’t mean rebellion."

Paswan, once seen as a staunch critic of Nitish Kumar, now appears to be toeing the NDA line with renewed clarity ahead of the crucial Bihar elections.
