Mangaluru, Jul 27: The spirit of tradition and community came alive at Holy Family Church, Omzoor, as the Stree Sanghatan of Omzoor Parish organised a vibrant celebration titled ‘Pavsa Sathyanth Khana Pakvana’ on Sunday, July 27. The event saw an enthusiastic participation of over 300 parishioners.

The programme was presided over by Fr Victor D’Souza, the residential priest, who delivered a meaningful message on the cultural and culinary heritage of the ancestors, especially the unique traditions and delicacies associated with the monsoon season and the month of Aati.

Distinguished guests on stage included: Arthur D’Souza, vice president of the parish pastoral council. The event featured spot games and community activities, creating a joyful and engaging atmosphere conducted by Dafney Lewis.

The highlight was the serving of traditional Aati-season delicacies, lovingly prepared by the women of Stree Sanghatan and other parishioners at their homes. These dishes, deeply rooted in local tradition, were shared with warmth and hospitality, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the region.

The event concluded with a sense of gratitude and joy, as parishioners came together to celebrate not just food, but faith, culture, and community.
