Udupi: Lions Club Udyavara Sunshine celebrates International Doctor’s Day

Udupi, Jul 26: On the occasion of International Doctor’s Day, Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine celebrated Doctors Day at Nityananda Sabha Bhavan in Balaipade, Udyavara.

Two young doctors Dr Sylvinia Fernandes Lobo and Dr Annettee D’Souza, who secured 8th position in the state in the MCENT examination of the University of Mysore, were recognised and felicitated for their achievements on the occasion.

Lion Louis Lobo, zone president of Zone Two, speaking on the occasion said, “It is important to maintain our health as doctors say. Even though we are not able to curb anything in society, we should take control of our health. As doctors direct we should change our lifestyle. There are many instances where doctors have responded to patients in difficult situations on a humanitarian basis, such doctors are role models for everyone.”

Lion Gerald Pereira, president Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine presided over the event. Secretary Lion Edwin Lewis welcomed the gathering. Treasurer Lion Alvin D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Lion Steven Colaco compered the event.

Immediate past president Lion Ronald Rebello and others were present on the occasion.
