Hyderabad, Jul 26: The Telangana Police's CID on Friday arrested Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Secretary Devaraj Ramchander in connection with a major forgery, cheating, and fund misappropriation case.

A CID official stated that Devaraj, who had been absconding, was traced and arrested from a hotel in Pune. He was brought to Hyderabad and produced before a court for judicial remand. He becomes the sixth accused to be arrested in the case, which was registered on June 9 following a complaint by Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy.

Earlier on July 9, HCA President A Jagan Mohan Rao, Treasurer C J Srinivasa Rao, CEO Sunil Kante, Sri Chakra Cricket Club President G. Kavitha, and General Secretary Rajendra Yadav were arrested.

The CID said the accused forged documents of Gowlipura Cricket Club—renamed Sri Chakra Cricket Club—by using the forged signature of its President C Krishna Yadav. These were allegedly used to falsely gain HCA positions.

The CID further alleged that Jagan Mohan Rao, along with other accused, misused public funds, and attempted to intimidate IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) over complimentary tickets and corporate box access during the IPL 2025 season at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

A criminal case under IPC Sections 465, 468, 471, 403, 409, 420 read with 34 has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
